As a rule a static reading of the book, with songs.
This is not one of the energetic Dr. Seuss episodes (such as The Cat in the Hat, The Lorax, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas) created by the Looney Tunes animators. This video is in the first instance a reading of the book illustrated mostly with stills from the book (which are either totally static or in some cases, panned to give the consciousness of animation.)So, if you're buying it for older kids or adults, I would recommend against it--it's not a very memorable experience. But, on the other give out, if you're buying it for a young child, I highly recommend it--my 3 year old daughter loves it!
Cats A to Z, rise play with me!
The Cat returns! This rollicking sequel is great! The reason why I gave this review its title is because the Cat in the Hat brings all his friends, Cats A to Z. By the skin of one's teeth like Thing 1 and Thing 2 in the original story, these cats reek havoc in the Walden current in. Also check out the stories of Fox in Socks and There's a Wocket in My Pocket!
Provides no aid over reading the books
My daughter rented this video from our nearby library, hoping it was an animated version of a story from her favorite author. We were both sorely disillusioned at the result. This video covers three books by Dr. Suess; The Cat in the Hat Comes Back, Fox in Socks and There's a Wocket in my Centre. The video does not present animated versions of the books. The camera shows stills from the books while off-filter actors read the text. In a sense it is like the video reads the book to the fret, except there are no words to actually be seen.Overall this video serves little purpose. Moving verisons of Dr. Suess's stories present dynamic and engaging visuals, and generally try to give a visual research of the text of the story. As there is no true animation here there is no engagement that would no be obtained from reading the book. At least the actors ends b body true to the original text, and we are not subjected to nauseating "improvements" of Dr. Suess's work, as in...

What happens when two of Dr. Seuss favorite inscription cross path? That is exactly what happens when the Cat in the Cat meets the sourly Grinch, but the Cat is more than up to the task in this perk up, animated special. Very entertaining VHS.

    Something for the whole relatives
This is one of the very few videos that the whole kinsmen enjoys. At 30 minutes it's long enough for a pre-bedtime viewing, short enough for the 2 year-old to vigilant but long enough for the 4-year old to feel satisfied. The story is fun, the animation is trippy and inventive. There are a few secret gems that the grown-ups can chuckle at and the rest is funny for the children. The dialogue between the Cat and the Grinch is winsome witty and amusing. This is definitely one that the adults and kids can enjoy at the same time. I am not driven unbalanced by repeated viewings!
    In money well spent
I've been looking everywhere for this silent picture and when I saw it here I decided to buy it. I watched this when I was a kid and haven't seen it in at least 8 years. I just got it and I was just as delighted with it as when I was younger. It's very spellbinding to see the Grinch and the Cat in the Hat together and the animation easily rivals that of a lot of animation today. Whether you like the Grinch, the Cat in the Hat, or Dr. Seuss, this is a genuine gem for any video collection. And I'll admit, I don't have any kids and I bought this just for myself! ^_^
A major film for all families
I rapture this movie, it shows the grinch outside of Christmas and it is equally funny to see the Cat in the Hat again. I watched this silver screen growing up and it is Dr. Seuss at his best. I would recommend this for children of all ages. It just goes to show that Dr. Seuss isn't very recently for children, but for anyone with a child's heart for a good time and laughter.

Deathless Dr. Seuss at his best.
This DVD contains four digitally remastered (superlative image quality) classic Dr. Seuss stories:* Green Eggs and Ham: about Sam-I-Am and his never ending stalk to make people sample the dish he loves best.* The Sneetches: about a narrow-minded and jaundiced group of creatures who don't accept others who don't look exactly like them.* The Zax: about two hardheaded and proud beings who ransack a whole lifetime for not yielding the right of way.* Grinch Night: about a courageous kid who faces the Grinch and saves his whole burgh from his malicious Halloween tricks and terrors. (A must see on Halloween night). It also contains two wonderful pipe-along songs: He Will Eat Them and Grinches Inches Closer. Not only does this collection of cartoons contains the marvelous songs and metrical composition of Dr. Seuss, it is also a great way to teach kids about human values like open-mindedness, allowance and acceptance, humility, courage and selflessness. They are filled with...
Let's impartial say it had a lifelong impact...
My earliest recollection is the first time I saw "Grinch Night"--when I was about two years old. Bad mistake on my parents' part...that movie scared me quiet. I hardly understood the plot, but I remembered very specific aspects of it: the line about Eukariah's spectacles, the weird orange bird that's always featured on the cover, the Grinch's flying eyebrows, and this big hovering ballon-feeling with huge eyes...I had nightmares for years.I watched it again when I was seven (actually I was forced to keep a weather eye open for it because we watched it in class for Halloween), and it still scared me to death--even more so because I understood the plot. And then I didn't have the bottle to watch it again until I was thirteen years old. And, even though I still have nightmares about it, I have an awesome new respect for it--the combined efforts of Dr. Seuss and Joe Raposo created the faultless spooky atmosphere for a children's Halloween special that wasn't even remotely corny. Extremely recommended--just not for...
    Halloween is Grinch Unceasingly
My fly-past is on the Emmy Award winning "Halloween is Grinch Night", shortened later to objective "Grinch Night" for some reason. It's a 30 minute Halloween special that originally aired on CBS in 1977. The Grinch Unceasingly story is not well known, but those that have seen it hold a special place for it in their hearts. Obviously not all of the enthusiastic specials of Seuss stories have been on the same level as the "The Grinch that Stole Christmas", but they are very enjoyable in their own straight off. The narrator and the Grinch is voiced this time by Hans Conried. There are two Seuss songs, "He Will Eat Them", and "Grinch's Inches Earlier", both hilarious as you might expect.Without giving away the whole story, you see the Grinch didn't stay laudatory after Christmas and is back to being dastardly and mean. The citizens of Whoville notice the sour-sweet pick up blowing and know that it means GRINCH NIGHT is coming. The "Whos" lock up their doors and windows to cover as this wind means that the...

Cool Tunes for Kids: The Cat in the Hat (1971)

I had to rearrange a consequence in the headline by adding the "(1971)", because I need to turn into it cloudless that when I say "The Cat in the Hat" I am once not referring to the 2003 fog translation starring Mike Myers. But having scan the books about the hat wearing feline non-stop after unendingly to my girls, we had to lease that mist and also appropriate the older ardent tube understanding from the library and see how they were....
